Johanna Corrado

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Johanna Corrado, who left us all too soon on March 7, 2025, in Monahans, TX. Born on February 27, 1980, in Calexico, California, to Jesus and Raquel Chavez, Johanna was a vibrant spirit who made her mark in the small town of Wink, Texas, where she lived a beautiful life filled with love.

Johanna was the loving wife of Javier Corrado, whom she married in Yuma, Arizona, in July 2000. Together, they shared 25 amazing years filled with laughter, adventure, and spontaneity. Johanna's outgoing personality and ability to find joy in the simplest moments made her a cherished friend to many. She had a heart that was truly bigger than life and was a beloved mentor and mother figure to countless kids around town, She was always caring for those around her.

She is survived by her husband, Javier Corrado of Wink, TX.; father, Jesus Chavez of Calexico, CA.; sons, Soemon Corrado and wife Maritza and Darian Corrado both of Wink, TX.; daughter, Monserrath Corrado and husband July of Wink, TX.; brother, Felipe Chavez and wife Graciela of Brawley, CA.; sister, Karen Chavez of Midland, TX.; and grandson, Antonio Corrado of Wink, TX. While the pain of her loss will be felt deeply, we find solace in the countless memories and the love she shared.

Johanna is preceded in death by her mother, Raquel Chavez.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation, Friday, March 21, 2025, from 4:00PM ~ 9:00PM. A funeral service will be held, at 2:00PM, Saturday, March 22, 2025, at the Kermit Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Luis Altamirano officiating. We hope to celebrate Johanna's life together, sharing stories and memories of a remarkable woman who lived so fully.
