Carolyn Collins, a devoted mother, passed away on March 22, 2025, in Grandfalls, Texas, after a long and courageous battle with cancer that began in 2009. Born on April 17, 1953, in Richwood, West Virginia, Carolyn embodied the essence of warmth and dedication throughout her life.
A woman of quiet strength, Carolyn found her greatest joy in being a stay-at-home mom, pouring her love and devotion into raising her three daughters. Her family was always her primary focus, and they were her purpose. Known for her opinionated nature, she nonetheless maintained a serene presence that brought comfort to those around her.
Carolyn is survived by her three beloved daughters: Billie Shipley and husband Noman of Grandfalls, TX, Rebecca Howerton of Grandfalls, TX, and MaryAnn Tomlinson of Columbus, OH. She also leaves behind a loving brother, Danny Wood and wife Glenna of Zanesville, OH, and sisters Donna Daniels of Cleveland, OH, and Connie Lesler and husband Ken of Mentor, OH. Her legacy continues with six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, who will undoubtedly carry forward her spirit of love and family.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Troy and Margie Wood, and her sister, Margie Deck. The love shared among her family and friends will be deeply remembered, and her influence will undoubtedly inspire generations to come. She will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.
